Modern life can be challenging, whether you are facing it alone or if you are in a relationship that you feel isn’t meeting all your needs. With the help of a clinical psychologist, you can gain clarity about the issues that are holding you back, and find your way to solutions through being understood and listened to.
I have over 20 years’ experience in using psychotherapy to help adults process and move beyond trauma, major life changes and emotional issues. Whether you need couple therapy or marriage counseling or are experiencing anxiety or depression, or having to adjust to a period of transition, talking things through with a therapist can yield positive results in your life, relationship or marriage.
Exploring the challenges you are facing is the first step towards achieving meaningful, lasting change and healing. When you come to my practice as a client, you’ll enter a safe space that is entirely free of judgement and where you can safely explore your hopes and fears.
All my individual and couples therapy offerings are available in both English and Afrikaans – whichever language you are more comfortable with.
In my therapy, I adopt a systemic approach to assist you with holistic psychotherapy solutions. I use my experience and skill to choose the most beneficial therapeutic approach or technique to suit each client’s or couple’s specific and unique needs.
I have a particular interest and experience in the following areas:
abuse / addiction / anger management / anxiety & stress / depression & other mood disorders / loss & bereavement / major life transitions / parental guidance / personal growth / psychiatric concerns such as bipolar disorder / trauma / relationship difficulties / suicidal ideation and self-harm behaviours / work related problems.
For adults who are finding it difficult to achieve personal growth, or who are struggling with the effects of trauma or abuse.
For couples who feel that their relationship has become toxic, or is not delivering the happiness they deserve.
For adults who are dealing with the aftermath of a relationship, or who are seeking reconciliation after a separation.
My office hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and appointments are 60 minutes in duration unless otherwise agreed upon.
This is a difficult question to answer as each person and relationship is unique. Therapy involves a commitment of time, money and energy and it is therefore important that you take the time to consider this commitment. I invite you to be patient with yourself, your unique needs and the pace of your development and healing.
Psychotherapy is intended to be a private and confidential process.
